Nelsons Baby Toupees
this is just one of the funniest saturday night live commercials i’ve ever seen.
“you gave him life. now give him confidence.”
that’s the good stuff.

man, i’m seriously bad about updating this site. i’ve really been busy lately. it’s a bummer that it’s taken me so long to put anything up here, and then when i do, it’s just a video of one of our dogs. i feel like it makes us look like total “dog people”. don’t get me wrong, i love my dogs, but i don’t have any pictures of them on any piece of my clothing. i haven’t yet crossed that boundary. but, when i do, you’ll be the first to know. i do want one of those shirts with a wolf on it though. something with a real heavy indian theme. maybe a dreamcatcher or two. that would be cool.
we’ve decided to use the moniker “the cedars” from now on when recording music together. several years ago, jana and i went to the experience music project in seattle, and they had this exhibit where you went onto a stage and it was lit in such a way that it made you feel like you were on a huge stage in front of hundreds of people. you could hear people screaming in the audience. it was really cool. well, they ask you for a band name when you go in and when you come out, they have tickets printed out with your band name on them. we called ourselves the cedars. i just thought it sounded cool. so, there you go.
this is a song jana and i did for a forthcoming compilation of childrens music. it’s going to be released in france i think, so i’m not sure how the u.s. availablity will be.
this is a song by laurie berkner who sings on one of lily’s favorite shows (or “yo”, as she calls them) jack’s big music show.
it would seem as if our little lady is all growns up. well, mostly. she is now mastering the task of feeding herself with a spoon. it’s still a messy process but it definitely makes feeding time a little easier (of course, clean-up is slightly more complicated). it’s these small rites of passage that make being a parent all the more enjoyable (did that sound really cheesy?).
i saw a clip online a long time ago where someone remixed west side story into a horror film trailer. i thought it was so rad that i decided to make my own version. i really ripped off the original, but oh well. i hope you enjoy it.
do you hear it? do you hear the Belle?
it tolls for thee.

that’s right everyone. we’ve entered the itunes age, and i think we need to come to terms with that. the heller family.org has made an effort to so do by creating it’s own video podcast. i have to admit, the idea is not my own. my friend ethan came up with it first. but i really enjoying ripping off great ideas so… anyway, if you have itunes installed (why WOULDN’T you) click on the image to the right and make it happen. i will soon have it as a constant link in the block to the left. the podcast will consist mainly of the videos that i put up on the site, but now you will have an automatic pipeline to the source. how wonderful is that? clap your hands say YEAH!
so, a couple of friends of ours were in town and one of them is a fantastic photographer and she took a bunch of pictures of jackson for us. so, thanks kristin, and you all enjoy these fantabulous photos.
a few years ago, some friends and i started a web site called the bendies. it was going to be revolutionary. we were going to each write about whatever we wanted. there would definitely be a mucical tilt to it, but all in all, it would be a place for us to spout off whatever we were thinking. i think they’re called “blogs” now (we were really ahead of our time). well, i wrote one article about a bunch of things that i wanted my future son to learn. i thought that since the future had arrived i would re-post that article. and now that i have a little more insight into the topic, i’ll probably write another article with a new list of things that i want to teach my boy. so, without further adieu…
this song is by the teenage prayers.
i heard this song the other day on k.e.x.p. (the best radio station in the world) and was totally into it. they remind me of someone but i can’t quite put my finger on it. if anyone has any ideas, put them forth here.
