i suppose i can thank jana for my new purchase. she called me one day a few weeks ago and said, “hey, did you know there’s a vespa shop in town? (i had no clue) well, there’s a sign out front saying that all vespas are on clearance. you should check it out.” vespas never go on clearance. that’s like saying there’s a sale at the apple store. it just doesn’t happen. as excited as i was, i shortly forgot about the whole conversation. so, she asked me a few days later if i ever got to check it out. no i had not. soon enough though, i for got about that conversation as well. a week or so later she brought it up again. “i drove by the vespa place, but the signs gone and i can’t see any more scooters.” well, 3rd times a charm i guess so i decided i needed to check this out. i called the place and they said that they had recently switched owners and the new owners didn’t want to sell them anymore. DRATS! “but the old owner still has several left and he’s selling them at cost. so i found where the old owner was keeping them, and the rest is history. i got a great deal on it and i’m so happy to be back in the scooter world. click the picture below for a link to a gallery.
i have to say, there’s nothing more refreshing than cruising down the street with the ipod on. there’s certain tunes that lend themselves well to the scooting experience. to quote my friend clint regarding the song knights of cydonia by muse, “racing down i-90 with my 6 year old dancing and jiving in the back seat telling me this music is like being chased by the police through the forrest on horses has never been so awesome!” i recalled that and threw the song on and have to agree, it’s a killer song to groove to.

a long time ago, a few friends and myself put together a site called “the bendiesâ€. it was basically a blog all about music, culture and our seperate musings. it was pretty cool but, as with most things cool, eventually went the way of the sabre-toothed tiger. none of us really had the commitment to keep it going full-time. too bad too, because there was some really good content there. one of the sections that i kept up pretty well was a little piece called “…and she talks in her sleepâ€. you see, when jana and i were first married she talked in her sleep a lot. many nights i would be up working at the computer in our bedroom and she would just sit up and start talking. it was crazy. after a couple of times of this i realized, i’ve got to write this down. so here you have â€â€¦and she talks in her sleepâ€.

so, a few months ago my dad was in the hospital for surgery. they kept him for several days and had him on some pretty heavy pain medication. for some reason, the medication had a weird effect on him and he started talking all crazy. i advised my mom to either record it or start writing it down. these are her notes. keep in mind that most of these comments are completely unprovoked and came out of nowhere.

i have no clue how this stuff happens, but somebody found a song that i recorded and blogged about it. judging by the title i believe he’s an elliott smith fan (am i right?). anyway, it’s kind of cool how the internet works that way. i’ve been thinking about re-recording that song. i play it a bit differently now than i did when i recorded it and i think it sounds really cool. a little more full, with a couple of guitars and some harmonies. anyway, i just thought whole blog thing was weird.

so, i got the urge to redesign the heller family.org. and as you can see, redesign, i did. i really like th new layout. it’s very clean and will integrate video and music MUCH better than our old site. clicking on pull over on the right will open up a navigation and search menu that should help you get around. it may take me a little bit to get all of the videos working correctly. i’m starting with the newest ones and working backwords. i may not be able to get the comments from all of the stories copied over however. anyway, i hope you enjoy the new site. contact me if you have any problems making it work for you.

yes, you heard me. the heller's are moving for the 8th time. is that crazy or what? i've actually been offered a job with a company called eliot management group, and we'll be moving to spokane, wa.
we're pretty stoked as it's a great job and we'll be by my family which will be fun. the boring part: EMG is a credit card processing company and i will be managing the spokane office. it's truly a great opportunity and we feel very blessed. i start in spokane on september 18th and am training up until then. we'll probably be renting out our house so if you know of anyone that wants to rent a killer house in auburn washington, let us know.
this, of course, also means that lakeland furniture warehouse is no more. that was a bit sad for me as this has been my baby. through good times and bad, it has been the thing that has helped us get through. i didn't have a camera and wasn't able to take any pictures of my last days, but i filmed a few things with my crappy cell phone video camera. all the videos are probably going to play at the same time (sorry), but they're only about 7 or 8 seconds long, so as soon as they're done, just hit play on each one individually to check them out.

…on the blog train. i figured it would be nice to have a place where i can keep my thoughts. a digital journal of sorts. but being the rebel that i am, i started a wordpress account. blogger is so yesterday. no, actually i just liked the way that wordpress looked, so, there you go. i posted a link to my blog in the left column under extras. it looks like this.

that’s right everyone. we’ve entered the itunes age, and i think we need to come to terms with that. the heller family.org has made an effort to so do by creating it’s own video podcast. i have to admit, the idea is not my own. my friend ethan came up with it first. but i really enjoying ripping off great ideas so… anyway, if you have itunes installed (why WOULDN’T you) click on the image to the right and make it happen. i will soon have it as a constant link in the block to the left. the podcast will consist mainly of the videos that i put up on the site, but now you will have an automatic pipeline to the source. how wonderful is that? clap your hands say YEAH!
