Attention all my Mormons out there: Pay your tithing online!
You heard me. You can pay your tithing online. Since we’ve started paying our tithing online, it’s made the process so much easier. It’s literally the first thing I do after I get paid (well, since I’m self-employed, I pay myself but it’s the same idea. To clarify you need to have online bill pay through your bank, but if you have that, you should be good to go. I’ve explained to many people how to do it, but I figured I’d just do a blog post on it this once and then direct everyone here.
It’s pretty simple. First download the following documents:
The Bill Pay Description form will give you the exact instructions of what you need to do. I searched long and hard through church forums before I found out just exactly how to do this. We’ve been doing it for over a year now and it’s been awesome. And for those of you thinking about saying that the physical act of handing in the check is part of the sacrifice, you can save it. 10% is 10%.
I should also note, that you can pay fast offerings and just about anything else church related with this same method as well.
Dope! I had no idea. And, yeah, that “the physical act = sacrifice” logic is crap. The physical act is simply a physical act. It’s actually an odd comment because it implies that those people must occasionally hedge and have to decide whether to pay or not, else how is the physical act a sacrifice if it doesn’t feel sacrificial?
Ooooh, I like that logic.I’ll have to remember that. Yeah, it’s been awesome for us. It just makes things so easy and fast. You can also do fast offerings and just about anything else, too.
That is the best thing I have found on the web in a long time. We always forget to grab a slip or bring the check book and then end up paying like 2-3 weeks later than we intend to. I love paying immediately thanks for the post.
I love it. I’ve been doing it this way for about 10 months, now. It is good for other things like Perpetual Education Fund & Humanitarian Aid, but I personally recommend paying Fast Offerings & Missionary donations still through the ward. Otherwise, the money goes to a general church fund and none of it will get to local needs.
Thanks for the clarification on fast offerings and missionary funds. The tithing part is SO convenient.
