jackson jet: 4 year birthday questions

October 20th, 2009

while i definitely realize that videos such as these are more for posterity than for your entertainment (grandparents excluded), i still feel it necessary to post them. as is tradition in the heller household, i have a list of fairly standard questions that i ask my children on their birthday. i hope it’s interesting to look back on their answers in a few years. here are the questions (and, more importantly, answers) for jack’s 4th birthday.

He wants to be Santa Claus and the “payer”. If that doesn’t get the girls, nothing will… Happy Birthday Jackson Jet! Auntie Lisa loves you!

A couple thoughts: First, warn folks ar the beginning about the video’s length. I had to stop and get two meals just to get through this one. Second, was that a hole in Jack’s left sock? It appeared to be–and it will be very embarassing to him later. Finally, I could hear Asher screaming in the background once and it sounded like he was being tortured. Don’t let Family Services watch this one! I did find it interesting that you did both long shots at firsr and then close ups of Jack. Did you break in the action to do that or is there a remote zoom feature on the new super camera? Good job.

    1. Folks ARE warned about the length. If you look at the video, it very clearly shows 8:86. You might want to check those glasses, old man.

    2. Yes it was. And he should be embarrassed.

    3. Yes, he was. If you consider a bath torture. Which he apparently does.

    4. Thanks. I stopped the interview twice to zoom in a bit. I just thought it would be fun to mix it up. Plus, I realized that people probably wanted to see more of jack than me.

That is a GREAT video. I loved watching it and the interraction between you and your son. It made me miss mine, so now I want to leave work early and go see my boys. It’s a great idea and one that I’ll probably steal from you. Happy birthday to Jackson (though he has no clue who I am) and have fun this weekend.

    Steve,

Its been awhile. I saw your parents this week at my grandma’s funeral up in Spokane. My email is russtheskiguy@yahoo.com. Shoot me an email and we can catch up on things. I saw the list of books that I thought you had read which included Jane Eyre. I was starting to wonder about you when you said it was such a great book. I read that book in high school for English and I despised it. It was cruel and unusual punishment for a guy in high school to have to read that. When I got to the end of the list I realized it was books your wife had read, so I guess you are off the hook. It’s definitely a book for women.

    Take care,
    Russ
